Isequester leads with a green culture; the natural environment is our top priority above all else. Without an environment in balance, food chains, habitat and life cannot be sustained. We promise to plant trees, care for the environment, and to follow the laws of reduce, reuse and recycle throughout all stages.
Every effort is made to minimise our own carbon impact and to ensure we take our own positive steps. Each Isequester employee has a mandatory pledge of 6 trees a month to build their own carbon bank. For every 500th pledge supporter, a mature tree will be planted and for every 1000th pledge supporter, we will create a habitat – for example, hibernacula, a hedgehog hut, or a large bug hotel. If you pledge to us, Isequester will pledge to you. We want to celebrate a growing movement and give more whenever we can.
Careful material selection ensures all products we purchase are ethical and sustainable. Our suppliers are challenged to reduce or remove waste from the supply chain, as well as making steps to demonstrate they also have a green culture. Isequester only wants to work with likeminded suppliers. We make it our mission to procure native British-grown trees.
We lead by example, including minimising travel. If we can be productive without travelling, then this will always be our first choice. If travelling is necessary, we will walk, bike, use electric vehicles (EV), share vehicles or use public transport as a priority.
You will not receive any regular physical advertising; we deliberately do not produce glossy brochures or literature. We want more trees in the ground, not to chop these down for use as paper.
Planting is only undertaken in the planting season – October to March. This will maximise survival rates and negate watering, thus reducing further carbon impacts through planting. We pre-agree and earmark the locations ready for the coming planting season. Your pledge may include planting in woodland or hedge blocks, and block planting helps to reduce our carbon footprint. We will endeavour to plant as close as possible to your location.
